Fly to Hungary and experience thermal baths in Budapest

Hungary is famous for its thermal baths, so it’s easy to find a place where you can soak your body in thermal, mineral rich water on your holiday.

Budapest has more thermal and mineral water springs than any other city in the world – nearly 80. The city has a long history of thermal baths, first built by the Romans, and later the Turks.

The mineral rich water in the thermal baths is said to be medicinal and is used to treat a variety of ailments. Rudas, Gellért and Széchenyi are among the most famous thermal baths in the city – but there are many more to discover.

Explore the Budapest area

Catch a train from Budapest to lake Balaton – the largest lake in Central Europe. The lakeside resort Balatonfüred is only a couple of hours away. Go for a walk along the tree-lined promenade and enjoy the view over the lake and the Tihany peninsula.

If you like Hungarian wine, you should go wine tasting in Eger in the north of the country. Eger is a historic wine region and famous for its wines. The most popular place for wine tasting is Szépassony-valley, the Valley of the Beautiful Women. You’ll find around 200 wine cellars to choose from in the valley.

Tips for a smooth trip to Hungary

Plan ahead and allow for some extra time

Make sure you keep track of your departure time and identify your check in terminal. You can check in online via our website or in the SAS app up to 30 hours before your departure time. It may sound obvious, but it’s always best to arrive a little early rather than being stressed. This is especially true during the summer or other popular vacation times.

Pack smart

Check our baggage rules and restrictions when it comes to baggage. Make sure your ticket type contains the right amount of baggage for what you intend to bring. Please remember that adding bags to our website or SAS App is always cheaper than doing it in person at the airport.

Stay up-to-date

Be sure to regularly check for any updates regarding your flight, such as for example gate changes. Keep an eye on your SAS flight status or download the SAS App for the latest updates.
