How it works

Pre-select your seat when you book, or add a seat under My bookings. You’ll see all of the available seats and fees, which vary depending on the route, cabin class and location in the cabin. You can also select your seat free of charge from when check-in opens up to 2 hours before departure.   You can book an extra seat beside you once check-in opens right up to 2 hours before departure. Please note that if you book an extra seat, you’ll need to check in at the airport. You also can’t use an extra seat to store baggage. Extra seats booked once check-in opens are also subject to availability.

Extra Seats

Extra seats can be purchased on selected flights from when check-in opens until to 2 hours before departure, subject to availability. These seats can be booked under My bookings or in the SAS app. Please note that extra seats are not guaranteed in the event of irregularities (see terms & conditions). You can buy up to 2 extra seats per ticket (but not per traveler). If before departure the seat is no longer available, you’ll receive a refund for the fee. A guaranteed extra seat is a seat beside you that you can reserve to secure additional personal space. If you’d like to book a guaranteed extra seat, please book your ticket and extra seat at the same time through SAS Customer Service or your travel agent.

Travelers in SAS Go, Plus and Business can purchase a seat in advance for a fee until 30 hours before departure.

If you’re traveling on a flight operated by one of our partners, the rules and fees of each airline apply.

If you don’t purchase a seat before check-in opens, you’ll be assigned a seat free of charge. You can change your seat once check-in opens (starting 30 hours before departure) if you’re traveling in SAS Go Smart, SAS Plus or SAS Business. When you purchase a seat, you’ll gain access to a seat category (aisle, middle or window) in the service class specified on your ticket. Please note that SAS has the right to make slight changes to the selected row (e.g. 3A --> 7A) at any time with no right to a refund.
