Fly to Belgium with SAS – Enjoy frites, waffles and chocolate in Brussels

If you don’t feel like governmental buildings and politics, Brussels has plenty of other things to see and do. Indulge yourself in Belgian waffles, chocolate or have a locally brewed beer. Try Belgian moules-frites at one of the many seafood restaurants around St Catherine’s square. And don’t forget to have some Belgian frites while you’re here.

Books and history in Antwerp

The Frenchman Christophe Plantin settled in Antwerp, Belgium’s biggest port, around 1550. In 1555 he established his famous printing and publishing business here. The Officina Plantiniana eventually moved to a building in Vrijdagmarkt where it kept going for around 300 years before it was sold to the City of Antwerp and turned in to museum.

Today the Museum Plantin-Moretus is home to two of the oldest printing presses in the world and the original lead Garamond typeface made by Parisian engraver Claude Garamond. Don’t miss the museums book collection and book store.

Tips for a smooth trip to Belgium

Plan ahead and allow for some extra time

Make sure you keep track of your departure time and identify your check in terminal. You can check in online via our website or in the SAS app up to 30 hours before your departure time. It may sound obvious, but it’s always best to arrive a little early rather than being stressed. This is especially true during the summer or other popular vacation times.

Pack smart

Check our baggage rules and restrictions when it comes to baggage. Make sure your ticket type contains the right amount of baggage for what you intend to bring. Please remember that adding bags to our website or SAS App is always cheaper than doing it in person at the airport.

Stay up-to-date

Be sure to regularly check for any updates regarding your flight, such as for example gate changes. Keep an eye on your SAS flight status or download the SAS App for the latest updates.
